iMultiMix 16 USB is a sturdy, compact mixer with built-in recording to its Universal Dock for iPod or to a USB-connected Mac or PC. It also features 100 studio-grade 28-bit digital effects, limiter, and control wheel transport controls for iPod.

iMultiMix 16 USB is the first 16-channel mixer to fuse professional-quality mixing, three-band EQ per channel, guitar/line inputs, and iPod recording in a single, powerhouse package. For ultra-clean live recordings of any performance, home studios, stages, podcasts, and houses of worship, iMultiMix 16 USB is the perfect partner.

Integrated USB audio output enables you to move your recordings to a Mac or PC without special drivers or complicated set-ups. Steinberg Cubase LE 4 and Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition recording software are included so no additional programs are needed for professional recording with iMultiMix 16 USB.

iMultiMix 16 USB also plays music from iPod so that it can be used as a source or backing track for live performance.

  • Are there any special drivers or software to install?

    iMultiMix 16 USB will automatically install all the necessary drivers the first time you connect it to your computer. (If you are using Windows ME or Windows 98 Second Edition, though, you may be prompted to insert the included software disc.)

    If you want to use iMultiMix 16 USB to record to your computer but don't already have a favorite software application to do this, we've included Steinberg Cubase LE 4 and Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition to get you started.

  • Can I use iMultiMix 16 USB to record to my computer?

    Yes. iMultiMix 16 USB can record to your iPod or to your computer and is compatible with any kind of recording software that supports USB audio devices. If you don't already have a favorite software application to do this, we've included Steinberg Cubase LE 4 and Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition to get you started. (Make sure you properly configure your software to recognize iMultiMix 16 USB as an input/recording device. Consult your software's manual for more information.)

  • Can I use iMultiMix 16 USB to record audio from my computer?

    Yes. iMultiMix 16 USB can receive stereo audio from your computer via its USB 1.1 port. This signal is assigned to the left and right TAPE IN channels of the iMultiMix 16 USB. (If another device is connected to these inputs, that signal is mixed with the signal from your computer.)

  • How do I configure my computer to work with iMultiMix 16 USB?

    First, connect . iMultiMix 16 USB to a free USB port on your computer. Then:

    In Windows XP, go to Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on the "Audio" tab and select "USB Audio Codec" as your default playback and/or recording device, then click "OK."

    In Windows Vista, go to Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Sound (or select "Switch to Classic View" if you don't see "Sound" as an option). To record to your computer using iMultiMix 16 USB, click on the "Recording" tab and select "USB Audio Codec" as the default device. To playback audio from your computer through iMultiMix 16 USB, click on the "Playback" tab and select "USB Audio Codec" as the default device. Click "OK."

    For Macs, go to your "System Preferences," then click "Sound." To record to your computer using iMultiMix 16 USB, click the "Input" tab and select "USB Audio Codec." To playback audio from your computer through iMultiMix 16 USB, click the "Output" tab and select "USB Audio Codec." Close the Control Panel.

  • What kind of mics can I connect to iMultiMix 16 USB?

    MultiMix 16 USB can accept 1/4" mics through its balanced and mono mic/line inputs or XLR mics through its mic inputs. iMultiMix 16 USB can also supply +48V phantom power to mics that require it by engaging the PHANTOM ON switch on the rear panel.

  • Can I connect my guitar to iMultiMix 16 USB?

    Yes. iMultiMix 16 USB's balanced line inputs for Channels 1 and 2 were made to accept guitars. Connect your guitar to the line input, then depress the MIC/LINE | GUITAR button under the jack to allow the input to support high-impedance guitar or bass pickups.

  • What iPods are compatible with iMultiMix 16 USB?

    You can record to the following iPod models with iMultiMix 16 USB:
    - 5th through 7th Generation iPods and iPod Classics
    - 2nd and 4th Generation iPod nanos (and nano-chromatics)
